Eyelash Extensions: How to Take Care of Your New and Improved Eyelashes

A good, professional eyelash extension is a worthy investment. And like all investments, it only makes sense that you should take care of them accordingly as well. For your ease and benefit, we have rounded some of the best, tried and tested tips to help you care for and maintain your eyelash extensions.

1: Immediately after the Session

Did you know that every time you get your eyelash extension session done, you need to avoid water and steam for at least 2 days? 48 hours is enough time for the lash extensions to set it properly. Getting water and steam in the way before those crucial 48 hours may hinder with the results.
Also, remember to sleep on your back for 48 hours because there is a fair chance that the eyelash glue is still wet. You need to give it at least 2 days before it can dry completely, then you may sleep in your normal sleeping position.

2: Go Oil-Free

Whether you are using makeup or even your daily moisturizers, it is important for you to use oil-free products. Products with oil may not sit too well with the extensions so it’s best to avoid them. This is particularly important for the first few weeks after getting them done.

3: Spoolie is Your BFF

Nobody likes clumped up lashes…even if they are extensions. So make sure that you keep those lashes nice and separate from each other and how can you do that? By brushing them with a spoolie twice a day!

4: Avoid Touching Your Eye/Lashes

The thing to remember here is that the less you touch your lashes, the longer they last. If you constantly play with them, they might even fall off! And you cannot have that happen.

5: Maintenance Sessions

To keep your eyelash extensions looking their best, schedule your top-up sessions after every 2-3 weeks. These maintenance sessions will keep them looking nice and fresh.
